Thank You to Families for coming out on Tuesday Night.  The second graders were so excited to set up the classroom and share with you everything they are learning.  It was so fun to see their excitement!

Fun with the Five Food Groups:  Nurse Reed completed her nutrition unit by making fruit burritos with our class.  The wraps included all five food groups: wheat, peanut butter, strawberries, banana, blueberries, vanilla yogurt, and shredded carrots.  The children LOVED them.  Thank you Nurse Reed!

Learning about Fire Safety:  The Cambridge Fire Department came on October 12th and taught us all about Fire Safety.  The children loved the video, Sparky the fire dog, Rollie the Talking fire truck, and seeing the real fire truck.

Reading and Writing Workshop:  This week we focused on reviewing blends and closed syllable words.  In Reading Workshop, we worked on identifying the problem and solution of a text.  We also learned about Author's Purpose.  Why did the author write the book?  In Writing workshop we wrote letters to the Cambridge Fire Department thanking them for their visit.
